In partnership with the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, we present a special program exploring President Lincoln鈥檚 musical tastes. A distinguished panel will discuss music in the Lincoln White House, 听the many performances Lincoln attended, and the role music played in his life during the Civil War. 听Moderated by Robert Aubry Davis, host of Millennium of Music and WETA鈥檚 Around Town; panelists include Christian McWhirter, Lincoln Historian, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum; John Stauffer, Professor, Harvard University, and author of The Battle Hymn of the Republic: A Biography of the Song That Marches On; Elizabeth Smith Brownstein, author of Lincoln鈥檚 Other White House; and Betty C. Monkman, former White House Chief Curator and author of The White House: Its Historic Furnishings and First Families.
