Online
Teachers and caregivers: register your elementary students for a special webinar presentation of The First Amendment: Five Rights in One with the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ on Bill of Rights Day!
December 15 is designated as Bill of Rights Day to commemorate the ratification of the document on December 15, 1791.
During this interactive program, students will explore the First Amendment freedoms from the Bill of Rights using historical primary sources from the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡. Students will learn about the importance of First Amendment rights, identify examples in photographs and short written documents, and discover how to exercise those freedoms.
This program is a part of Civics for All of US, the national civic education initiative from the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡. Our interactive distance learning programs draw upon the vast holdings of the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ to promote the knowledge, skills, and dispositions students need for civic engagement in the 21st century. Each program is led by one of our educators located at ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ sites, the Center for Legislative Archives, and Presidential Libraries across the country. Check for more information, including how to request a program for groups of 10 or more students.

All events listed in the calendar are free unless noted.
