The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty

Barbara Pierce Bush鈥攑olitical powerhouse, Bush family matriarch, former First Lady, and celebrated public servant. In The Matriarch, journalist and author Susan Page traces Barbara Bush鈥檚 life from growing up in Rye, NY, to becoming America鈥檚 First Lady. While her own political beliefs sometimes differed from her husband鈥檚, she nevertheless became an astute political campaign strategist, helping him to gain the nomination and win the White House. A book signing follows the program.

Rightfully Hers, a new exhibit to mark the centennial of the 19th Amendment, will open this year.
