Bessie Coleman was an American aviator in the early 20th century. Facing discrimination in America, Coleman went to France to earn an international pilot鈥檚 license. While abroad, she learned aerial stunts along with parachuting and performed at various air shows. As a public speaker, she supported Black aviation and intended to teach future generations about aviation. Bessie Coleman is portrayed by Daisy Century of American Historical Theatre.
