Ulysses S. Grant was the 18th President of the United States. After graduating the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Grant served in the Mexican American War and later the U.S. Civil War for the Union. He rose through the ranks after a significant win at the battle of Vicksburg. Known for excellent horsemanship, dogged determination, and strategic maneuvering, he was eventually appointed as Commander of the Union Army (1864鈥�65). His military accomplishments led to his nomination and two Presidential terms. Ulysses S. Grant is portrayed by Curt Fields.
