Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was the 16th President of the United States. Lincoln led the United States through the Civil War and abolished slavery. Prior to entering politics, Lincoln was a lawyer. From 1985 to 2000, the Lincoln Legal Papers projects collected more than 96,000 documents, arranged by case, were published in DVD-ROM format as The Law Practice of Abraham Lincoln: Complete Documentary Edition, now available online.
