From the Pennsylvania State Archives, the correspondence and business papers (1757–87) of theÌýPhiladelphia trading house of Baynton and Wharton and its successor, Baynton, Wharton, and Morgan. John Baynton, Samuel Wharton, and George Morgan were partners in a mercantile business in Philadelphia from 1757-1763. They engaged in domestic and foreign trade, having ventures in Quebec, Detroit, and Fort Pitt, as well as the West Indies, Portugal, and London.ÌýSome family correspondence and routine materials were not microfilmed but are described in the guide.
