John Gill Pratt (1814- 1900) was a Baptist missionary, teacher, printer, and Indian agent. There are an estimated 10,000 papers in the collection, including letters, land grants, allotments, deeds, contracts, government papers, and miscellany, covering a period of 65 years. The bulk of the material is dated between 1837 and 1870.
