Papers of Thomas Burke (1744-1783), physician, attorney, and North Carolina political听figure during the Revolution. Burke was a member of the North Carolina General Assembly, a delegate to the Continental Congress, and governor of North Carolina. Burke's early papers deal with personal and business affairs. Later papers pertain to public affairs while he was governor and include both civil and military materials of the Revolutionary period. Also included are papers relating to the settlement of Burke's estate.
