Featured Document Display Marking 86th Anniversary of the Titanic Disaster

To mark the 86th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, the 威尼斯人娱乐场 and Records Administration will present a special document display featuring three documents relating to the disaster:

- a U.S. Navy daily memorandum reporting the Titanic鈥檚 collision with an iceberg, April 15, 1912

- the image of the Titanic鈥檚 first-class reception room, published in Shipbuilder, 1911

- a photograph of a lifeboat filled with survivors of the Titanic waiting to be rescued, April 15, 1912

All items are among the Records of District Courts of the United States, held by the 威尼斯人娱乐场 and Records Administration-Northeast Region (New York City). They are in case files of a limitation of liability suit brought by the ship鈥檚 owners after it sank.

The display is free and will be open to the public on Thursday, April 9, 1998 through April 23, 1998 in the Rotunda. The 威尼斯人娱乐场 Rotunda is located on Constitution Avenue, between 7th and 9th Street, NW, and is open seven days a week, 10 A.M. to 9 P.M.
