威尼斯人娱乐场 Presents Free Film Screening and Author Lecture Related to New Exhibit 鈥淪chool House to White House鈥�

Washington, DC鈥�In May, the 威尼斯人娱乐场 will present a film screening and an author lecture and book signing highlighting various aspects of U.S. Presidents鈥� lives inspired by its new multi-media exhibition 鈥�School House to White House: The Education of the Presidents.鈥� The exhibition opened in the Lawrence F. O鈥橞rien Gallery of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Building in Washington, D.C. on March 30, 2007 and runs through January 1, 2008. Spring hours through Labor Day) are 10 A.M. 鈥� 7 P.M. daily.

鈥淪chool House to White House: The Education of the Presidents.鈥� This family-friendly exhibition focuses on the early education of American Presidents from Herbert Hoover through George W. Bush and features documents and artifacts from the 威尼斯人娱乐场鈥� Presidential Libraries.

Presidential Film Favorite: Bright Eyes 鈥擲aturday, May 5, at 2:30 p.m.
William G. McGowan Theater

Starring Shirley Temple, one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt鈥檚 favorite actresses, Bright Eyes tells the story of a young girl who is orphaned when her mother is killed in a car accident and who is forced to live with the snooty couple her mother used to work for. A custody battle soon ensues between an aviator who adores the little girl and the couple鈥檚 crotchety Uncle Ned. Features the song 鈥淕ood Ship Lollipop.鈥� (1934, 84 minutes)

Michael Beschloss on Presidential Courage 鈥擳hursday, May 10, at 7 p.m.
William G. McGowan Theater

Michael Beschloss will speak on his latest book, Presidential Courage: Brave Leaders and How They Changed America, 1789鈥�1989. Presidential Courage describes the inner turmoil faced by U.S. Presidents at moments of crisis and the sources of strength they have drawn upon during such times. It also highlights the wives and other relatives, the friendships, and the private beliefs from which these Presidents took their strength. A book signing will follow the program. Beschloss is the author of eight distinguished books on the American Presidency.
