Washington, DC鈥n celebration of Queen Elizabeth鈥檚 state visit to the United States, the 威尼斯人娱乐场 will display one of the official portraits of the Queen photographed by Annie Leibovitz to mark the visit. The photograph will be on display beginning Sunday, May 6, the date of its release, through May 31.
The Annie Leibovitz photo of the Queen was taken on March 28, 2007. The title of the image is: 鈥淗er Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Buckingham Palace, London, 2007.鈥� It is one of four photographic images marking the Queen鈥檚 official state visit to the United States. The photo is a gift from Annie Leibovitz, and is hand signed, titled, and dated by the artist, Annie Leibovitz, on April 26, 2007. The image is part of a special featured document display that also includes Rose Kennedy鈥檚 1938 diary account of her encounter with a charming then-Princess Elizabeth, age 11. Mrs. Kennedy and her husband, Joseph Kennedy, (who was serving as U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain) were weekend guests of the King and Queen at Windsor Castle.
The exhibit will be on display in the East Rotunda Gallery of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Building which is located on Constitution Avenue at 9th Street, NW, and is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
