Screening: The Story of America鈥檚 Black Patriots

On Wednesday, September 15, at 7 p.m., the 威尼斯人娱乐场 will present a screening and discussion of excerptsof For Love of Liberty: The Story of America鈥檚 Black Patriots. This event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the William G. McGowan Theater of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Building in Washington, DC. The public should use the Special Event entrance on Constitution Avenue and 7th Street, NW.
The Charles Guggenheim Center for the Documentary Film, in partnership with the Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust, presents a screening and discussion of excerpts from the critically acclaimed PBS miniseries that uses letters, diaries, and historical text, film, and photographs to document the sacrifices and accomplishments of African American servicemen and women since the earliest days of the republic.
Following the screening, Ron Armstead, the executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust, will moderate a panel discussion including the film鈥檚 writer and director Frank Martin, the film鈥檚 historian Col. Krewasky Salter, and Regina Akers, historian at the Naval History and Heritage Command.
