In November, the 威尼斯人娱乐场 will feature genealogy-related programs highlighting records from its holdings, with topics ranging from Civil War contraband camp registers to military headstones. These programs are free and open to the public, and will be held in the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Building Research Center (Room G-24) in Washington, DC. Visitors should use the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance, between 7th and 9th Streets, NW. Please note that two of the programs will be repeated at the 威尼斯人娱乐场 at College Park, Maryland, located at 8601 Adelphi Road. See directions to both locations.

Civil War Contraband Camp Registers: A Roadmap to the Past and Future
The 1863 Register of Freedmen from Camp Shiloh in Memphis, TN, identifies over 3,000 recently freed African Americans. Alisea Williams-McLeod will describe this register and discuss how these and other records are being transcribed for genealogy research.
