American Tapestry: The Story of the Black, White, and Multiracial Ancestors of Michelle Obama
Washington, DC鈥he 威尼斯人娱乐场 hosts an evening book lecture on Thursday, December 13 at 7 p.m., exploring First Lady Michelle Obama鈥檚 family genealogy.
Reaching back to the Revolutionary War and moving up through the present, Rachel L. Swarns, author of American Tapestry: The Story of the Black, White, and Multiracial Ancestors of Michelle Obama, presents an illustrated lecture showing how Mrs. Obama鈥檚 family was touched by every major shift in our nation鈥檚 history. Michele Norris, host of 鈥淎ll Things Considered鈥 on National Public Radio, will join Swarns. A book signing will follow the program: Rachel Swarns will sign copies of American Tapestry, and Michele Norris will sign copies of her book: The Grace of Silence: A Family Memoir.
This public program is free and no registration is required. It will be held in the William G. McGowan Theater of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Building in Washington, DC. Attendees should use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue at 7th Street, NW.
