Jazz Family Day and Performance by the Jazz Academy of Music

The ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ hosts a free Jazz Family Day on Saturday, June 7, from noon–2 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the William G. McGowan Theater lobby of the . Attendees should use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue at 7th Street, NW.

Bring your family and get in the groove! Jazz Family Day kicks off at noon in the William G. McGowan Theater with a performance by an ensemble from the Jazz Academy of Music. Activities in the McGowan Theater lobby will follow: visitors will learn what jazz has to do with the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡, meet the youth musicians, visit an instrument petting zoo, and try other hands-on activities. Jazz at the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ is made possible in part by the Foundation for the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ through the generous support of Natixis Global Asset Management.

Jazz Family Day is one of a series of jazz events hosted by the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡, with its nonprofit partner the Foundation for the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡. The series coincides with the 60th anniversary of the famed Newport Jazz Festival, and includes jazz-related panel discussions, concerts, film screenings, and other special events exploring one of America’s greatest cultural exports.
