In December and January, the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ presents research and genealogy programs highlighting records from its holdings on topics ranging from soldiersβ voices in the Civil War to βSex on the Frontier.β All programs are free and open to the public, and will be held in the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ Building Research Center (Room G-25), in Washington, DC. Attendees should use the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance, between 7th and 9th Streets, NW. Metro accessible on the Yellow and Green lines, Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station. Please note: one program will be repeated at the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ at College Park, MD, located at 8601 Adelphi Road. See directions to both locations.

In recognition of the Civil War sesquicentennial, researcher John Emond presents dramatic, humorous, and poignant North and South soldier βvoicesβ through their documents and letters. Learn how to do basic genealogical research using Federal records at the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘. Lectures take place on the first Wednesday of each month.

Rebecca Edwards, Eloise Ellery Professor of History and Department Chair at Vassar College, will discuss her research in petitions sent to Congress for her topic, βSex on the Frontier: Fertility and Americaβs Antebellum Empire.β

PLEASE NOTE: All ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ research rooms will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ research rooms in Washington, DC, and nationwide will close at 2 p.m. on December 24. All museums will be closed on December 25. Check each Presidential library's schedule for holiday hours.
