ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ Holds Free Records Lectures in December and January

In December and January, the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ presents research and genealogy programs highlighting records from its holdings on topics ranging from soldiers’ voices in the Civil War to β€œSex on the Frontier.” All programs are free and open to the public, and will be held in the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ Building Research Center (Room G-25), in Washington, DC. Attendees should use the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance, between 7th and 9th Streets, NW. Metro accessible on the Yellow and Green lines, Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station. Please note: one program will be repeated at the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ at College Park, MD, located at 8601 Adelphi Road. See directions to both locations.

2014 Virtual Genealogy Fair Sessions Now Online!!
The ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ hosted a live, three-day, virtual Genealogy Fair via webcast on YouTube, October 28-30. Revisit this popular event online.

Civil War Voices from the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ and a Private Collection
In recognition of the Civil War sesquicentennial, researcher John Emond presents dramatic, humorous, and poignant North and South soldier β€œvoices” through their documents and letters. This program will be repeated on Thursday, January 8, at 11 a.m., at the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ at College Park, MD, Lecture Room C

Wednesday, January 7, at 11 a.m.
Introduction to Genealogy at the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘
Learn how to do basic genealogical research using Federal records at the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘. Lectures take place on the first Wednesday of each month.

Thursday, January 15, at noon
Researcher Talk: β€œSex on the Frontier”
Rebecca Edwards, Eloise Ellery Professor of History and Department Chair at Vassar College, will discuss her research in petitions sent to Congress for her topic, β€œSex on the Frontier: Fertility and America’s Antebellum Empire.”

Saturday, January 17, noon-4 p.m.
β€œHelp! I'm Stuck” Genealogy Consultation
Not sure where to begin? Has a genealogical problem stumped you? An archivist is available from noon to 4 p.m. to answer your questions. Sign up for a 20-minute appointment at the Microfilm Research desk on Saturday.

PLEASE NOTE: All ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ research rooms will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ research rooms in Washington, DC, and nationwide will close at 2 p.m. on December 24. All museums will be closed on December 25. Check each Presidential library's schedule for holiday hours.
