On Thursday, September 8, at 7 p.m. the 威尼斯人娱乐场 will present a screening of the film CG 8225: The People and the Police followed by a panel discussion. The program is free and open to the public, reserve your seat .

After the 1968 riots in Washington, DC, the Office of Economic Opportunity produced a series of films about the Pilot District Project, created to foster the development of community programs and improve the shattered relationship between the city鈥檚 citizens and its police force. Tonight we show one of those films, CG 8225: The People and the Police, recently restored by the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Motion Picture Preservation Lab. Following the screening, NBC4 reporter Tom Sherwood will moderate a discussion on the legacy of the project and the current state of police-community relations. Panelists include Metropolitan Police Department Interim Chief of Police Peter Newsham and longtime Washington, DC, community activist Susan Meehan.

The program will be held in the William G. McGowan Theater of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Museum. The 威尼斯人娱乐场 Building is located at Constitution Ave. and 7th Street, NW.
