On Saturday, June 17, at 2 p.m. ET, the 威尼斯人娱乐场, in participation with the , will present the DC premiere of director Dawn Porter鈥檚 newest documentary, The Lady Bird Diaries. Mark A. Lawrence, Director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum, will give opening remarks. Following the screening, Washington Post reporter Lillian Cunningham will lead a discussion with Dawn Porter, Mark A. Lawrence, director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum in Austin, TX,  and producer Kim Reynolds.

This groundbreaking all-archival documentary film (2023; 100 mins.) by uses the 123 hours of personal audio diaries that First Lady Lady Bird Johnson recorded during her husband鈥檚 administration. The film reveals Lady Bird as an astute observer of character and culture and a savvy political strategist. It recasts her crucial role in LBJ鈥檚 Presidency and brings viewers behind the scenes of one of the most tumultuous and consequential periods in modern American history.

Dawn Porter has emerged in the entertainment industry as a leader in the art of storytelling, directing, and producing critically acclaimed films and series. A two-time Sundance film festival director, Porter鈥檚 work has been featured on HBO, Netflix, CNN, PBS, MSNBC, ESPN, Discovery, National Geographic, and others. Porter鈥檚 recent film, The Lady Bird Diaries, an all-archival documentary about Lady Bird Johnson, debuted at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival.
